Logging Terminal Engine House

This will be my first attempt to scratch build a TT scale engine house board by board. The engine house is a conglomeration of designs
I gleaned from several model magazines. It's design leans toward John Allen's two stall engine house. I drew it up in 2D and 3D CAD.

After I drew up the 2D drawing I made a 3D CAD
to see if I liked the design. This is the front 3/4 view.

The rear 3/4 view.

I added the outside board to see
what it would look like in the inside.

These are the compilation of the
four walls of the CAD drawing.

Here is all that is needed for the staining the beams. The
12" X 12" beams, some steal wool, India Ink/alcohol mix,
a soft bristled brush and something to stain the beams on
that you don't mind getting stained.

First a quick wipe with some fine steal
wool to take the fuzz off of the wood.

Next use liberal amounts of stain
on all sides of the beam and let dry.

The dried India ink/alcohol stained beams
and a print out of the wall structure.

I also used a burnt sienna acrylic paint over the
India ink/alcohol stain for a nice brown tone.

I put a small amount of paint on the brush, brushed it on and
then dip the brush in the alcohol and spread the paint.
