In late 2009 the TT Scale Society was formed to help design and produce a TT scale GP38-2. The whole story of how this came about can be read here: TTnut Forum

The picture is of a GP38-2 in resin. It is being produced for the TT Scale Society. It's a very nicely detailed resin casting.

GP38-2 Prototype Chassis.
The beginnings of developing a chassis made from .030" thick brass stock. The friction drive drop box has been fastened to the chassis. The round part is a jig to keep the
pillow blocks at a set distance.

The unfinished pulley installed. (still needs a groove for the neoprene O-ring). Checking for fuel tanl clearance.

Not going to make it.

Made a wooden fixture to hold the shell level upside down so I could mill out the sides to drop the brass chassis further into the shell.

An end view.

Arrows show what was milled. It's a bit more than .030", the thickness of the chassis.

Start of milling a pocket into the chassis holding fixture.

Complete pocket on holding fixture.
